Reds’ infielder suspended 80 games
Cincinnati Reds third baseman Noelvi Marte has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Boldenone, a performance-enhancing substance, Major League Baseball announced Friday. The twenty-two year-old made his MLB debut in 2022 and joined the Reds last year.
He was expected to be a big part of this year's team as the organization has high hopes with a young and talented cohort. Now, the Reds will be down a potential key player for half the season.

During Friday's spring training game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals, Umpire Angel Hernández's short fuse was on full display when he ejected pitcher Lance Lynn twice. Lynn, who was making his spring training debut, took issue with Hernández's strike zone. The umpire ejected the right-hander from the exhibition game. Lynn went to the bullpen but Hernández was not happy with that and ejecting the pitcher a second time, making him leave the field area completely.
